چکیده
Abstract Left atrial (LA) inflow propagation velocity from the pulmonary vein (LAIF-PV) has been proposed as a novel measure of LA reservoir function and is associated with capillary wedge pressure in critically ill patients. However, data on LAIF-PV acute heart failure (AHF) are lacking. We sought to examine feasibility measuring evaluate clinical echocardiographic correlates AHF. In prospective cohort study adults hospitalized for AHF, we used color M-mode Doppler veins obtain systole. Among 142 patients appropriate images no more than moderate mitral regurgitation, measures were feasible 76 (54%) aged 71 ± 14 years, including 68% men left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) 38% 13. Mean was 24.2 5.9 cm/s. multivariable regression analysis adjusted age, sex, systolic blood pressure, rate, body mass index, New York Heart Association class, volume LVEF, only independent predictors right (RV) S’ [ß 0.46 cm/s per (95% CI 0.01–0.91), p = 0.045] tricuspid annular plane excursion (TAPSE) 0.28 mm 0.02–0.54), 0.039]. Notably, not significantly correlated LV function, or E/e’. conclusion, measurable 54% lower values impaired RV but function.

Left ventricular inflow propagation velocity for diastolic function testing: head-to-head comparison between velocity-encoded MRI and color M-mode Doppler echocardiography
Background The inflow propagation velocity (Vprop) of the early filling wave has been proposed as an accurate marker of left ventricular (LV) diastolic function [1]. Traditionally, Color M-mode echo Doppler is used for Vprop-assessment. However, this method has not been validated against an alternative modality such as velocity-encoded (VE) MRI for assessing Vprop. The purpose of this study was...
متن کاملWhat parameters affect left ventricular diastolic flow propagation velocity? in vitro studies using color m-mode doppler echocardiography
BACKGROUND Insufficient data describe the relationship of hemodynamic parameters to left ventricular (LV) diastolic flow propagation velocity (Vp) measured using color M-mode Doppler echocardiography. METHODS An in vitro LV model used to simulate LV diastolic inflow with Vp measured under conditions of varying: 1) Stroke volume, 2) heart rate (HR), 3) LV volume, 4) LV compliance, and 5) trans...
متن کاملColor M-mode Doppler flow propagation velocity is a preload insensitive index of left ventricular relaxation: animal and human validation.
OBJECTIVES To determine the effect of preload in color M-mode Doppler flow propagation velocity (v(p)). BACKGROUND The interpretation of Doppler filling patterns is limited by confounding effects of left ventricular (LV) relaxation and preload. Color M-mode v(p) has been proposed as a new index of LV relaxation. METHODS We studied four dogs before and during inferior caval (IVC) occlusion a...
متن کاملRatio of left ventricular peak E-wave velocity to flow propagation velocity assessed by color M-mode Doppler echocardiography in first myocardial infarction: prognostic and clinical implications.
OBJECTIVES To determine the ability of the ratio of peak E-wave velocity to flow propagation velocity (E/Vp) measured with color M-mode Doppler echocardiography to predict in-hospital heart failure and cardiac mortality in an unselected consecutive population with first myocardial infarction (MI). BACKGROUND Several experimental studies indicate color M-mode echocardiography to be a valuable ...
متن کاملHigh-temporal velocity-encoded MRI for the assessment of left ventricular inflow propagation velocity: head-to-head comparison with Color M-mode echocardiography
Methods 43 patients with ischemic heart failure (61±11years) and 22 healthy volunteers (29±13years) were included. Vp by Color M-mode echocardiography (Vp-echo), was measured according to current recommendations (Figure 1). VE-MRI was performed on a 1.5 or 3.0 Tesla MRI system during free breathing, with single-direction in-plane velocity-encoding in phase-encoding direction, angulated parallel...
